English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.

The event will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
