Loyal fans of the pop star are demanding that a individual who jumped a barrier and touched the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the performers walked down a yellow carpet accompanied by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though official papers showed that he was scheduled to appear on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains videos of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is clearly a punishable act," commented an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Several supporters criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said another comment on Instagram.

A number of attendees also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Event Details

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande seemed startled when she was touched by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of fans had gathered in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore mall, including some who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be released on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a two-film interpretation of the popular stage musical Wicked, which focuses on the surprising bond between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a adaptation of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and received 10 Academy Award nods, securing a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
