I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
