In a surprising collaboration that defies traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Uncovered

According to the authorized release, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden cult.

The adventure focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Transformations

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Extra Material

Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana together with numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Update

This update also brings the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
